When your computer breaks, it is hard to find the time to take it to a specialist to be analyzed and possibly repaired.

And sometimes, our computers are large and difficult to transport to a facility. Additionally, connecting all of the components correctly upon bringing it back might prove to be another challenge for most users. Online remote computer support makes it possible for us to have professional access to our machine, run an analysis of the issue, and determine what can be done to correct the problem without requiring us to leave our homes or workstations.

When you contact a professional service, they may ask you if remote computer support is something that you would be interested in. They will then ask you to visit a website where you will grant the business permission to access your computer remotely. This usually requires special software that you will be prompted to download after granting permission. In most cases, their technician can walk you through the process if this is not something you are comfortable doing on your own.

The benefits of online computer support include:

  • Fast: Receive help instantly without having to wait for a tech to arrive at you.
  • Convenient: No need to take the bulky computer to a shop or wait for an expensive in-home visit.
  • Affordable: Our costs are much lower than sending a tech to you…. this lets us charge much more affordable prices for the same high-quality service as you would receive from an onsite technician.
  • Who is doing the work?
  • The troubleshooting of your system is performed by one of our industry-certified technical experts. When you call us to request service, you will speak to one of our technically trained customer service representatives who will find out details of your problem and delegate it to one of our expert technicians.

  • Can you help me with my computer if I’m outside of the U.S.?
  • Yes, our online PC repair service works through an internet connection no matter where in the world you are.

  • What if you can’t fix my problem remotely online?
  • There are times when an online remote session will not be adequate to remedy a particular problem. In those cases, we will schedule an onsite technician to be physically sent to your location.

Most of us rely on email as an important way to communicate in both our business and personal interactions. When it isn’t working, we can miss messages that are important to us. While it may seem like you have little control over how email messages are sent and received, fixing anything that is wrong with that process is often easier than you would think. Here are several ways to troubleshoot and navigate the most common email issues.

Missing Email Messages

If you are missing a few, specific emails check your Spam or Junk folder. Depending on the subject lines and other factors in email messages, they may be picked up as Spam or Junk, particularly if your filter is strong. If that isn’t the issue, ask the email senders if they have received a bounce-back of the email they sent to you.

On the other hand, if you are missing a large amount of email after you checked it from a device that you don’t normally use, you likely used Post Office Protocol (POP) to access it from that device. POP grabs emails from your server, downloads them, and sends them to you or whomever you designate. To fix the problem, create an IMAP account on the device you accessed email with and drag and drop emails from the POP inbox to the IMAP inbox. Then, disable the POP email inbox.

Can’t Send or Receive Email Messages

Check that your Domain Name System (DNS) is sending an email to the server you are using. If you have just set up an account or made a change to an account, it may take 24-48 hours to begin sending/receiving the email. If this isn’t the case, disable then re-enable your account.

Slow Email Messages

This issue is often connected to mailbox size so first try deleting or archiving some email. You also may have exceeded the disk space for this email account or the server you are using. To fix that, increase the disk space for the account, upgrade your storage space, and reduce the mailbox size.

A bounce-back is when you get back the email you tried to send as a result of some kind of error. Read the message in the bounce-back email. It will likely say why the email was rejected, such as it is being blocked, treated as SPAM, or the recipient doesn’t exist. Check the spelling of the email address you sent the message to and make certain you have spelled it correctly. If you have spelled correctly, call the recipient and make sure you have the correct address.

A cloud backup is also known as an online backup. It sends a copy of data (documents, photos, etc.) to an offsite vendor, sometimes called a cloud provider. This third-party network or proprietary keeps the information secure and available in real-time. Typically, there is a fee-based on bandwidth, capacity, and the number of users accessing the cloud.

Most individuals and businesses choose a cloud backup instead of storing it locally because they do not want to risk valuable information being compromised or lost. Another reason people decide to use a cloud backup is to archive essential information that they do not need to have access to on a daily basis.

We need our computers to accomplish so much for us so when they are not functioning at full capacity, it can hinder our lives. Our computers are also finicky, working fine one minute and then not functioning correctly the very next and sometimes this can signal a computer virus has infected your computer. Here are some common indications that your computer is not just having an off day and could be infected with a virus.

A sudden slow down when a resource-heavy application is running could mean that a virus is infecting your machine via your memory.

A surge of pop-up ads while you are surfing the Internet can be a serious annoyance, especially if there are a lot of them at once. If you are bombarded with pop-ups, and anti-spyware software can determine if it is a virus or the webpage that you visited.
